-tianamen square. facing the forbidden city, tianamen is the worlds largest public square.
built after the establishment of the peoples republic in 1949, it has been the site of official
parades and demonstrations as well as popular protest- it is also the site of a much
disputed and better left forgotten span of time much older and stranger than any times we
can recall now. but for the purposes of this chronicle of the history and mystery of
tianamen square we will, for the first time in the modern age, disclose and dust off the
ancient scrolls and impart to you a tale of darkness and violence from the Pan Dynasty.
this was once a graveyard of a sort. there were no bodies in this yard of death, only a
great beast that hungered for and devoured the recently dead. as the legend goes, all
the provinces around the ground which is tiananmen square today were besieged by the
devil cult called, at one time, Shao Leng Lo Vitiiya. thier arrival was heralded by a loud
bang and a flash of ligering red light on the top of the mountain Koel which is no more. it
was also heralded by a communal nightmare of a beast in human clothing emerging from
a lava pit made in the earth filled with blood, organs and excrement. this being was
believed to have been called upon by the mountain people. the mountain people had
been exiled by those residing in the provinces for deviltry, for worshipping hienous gods
and performing cruel, perverted acts for these inter-dimensional atrocities. in vengeance,
these people materialized a creature that exists more outside our realm and on the night
winds of desolate places. this being possessed them all upon materialization. the
mountain people then began stealing off with many people of the provinces in the night.
rumors of cannabalism and gnawed human bones found in the steppe began flying
through the province like a tsunami with the associated tears and terrors. eventually the
elders decided something must be done after they had sent thier bravest warriors to put
down the devil in the mountain. thier men returned possessed and commited genocide in
the Teh Mi province. the decision was made to open an urn that held a creature that had
been imprisoned milleniums ago within it in a time of fable. as the golden-green urn was
opened thier folly was realized. the only description of Muam that i could retrieve recalled
it as a thing with no legs, but rather was rooted but not rooted in the earth. its skin was
black not of fire, but of age, and it ate by dragging the living into the ground with it, then
days later the corpse was expelled from the earth and the creature then feasted upon the
cadaver. the creature, or Muam, devoured first all of the good folk of the provinces who
had released it, then all of the possessed marauders until none came from the mountain
anymore, nor anyone from beyond the horizons. for years this land lay in desolation, void
of all life, for all who ventured to see the 'town that stood still' were swallowed whole by the
earth alive and then rose from the grave dead and then Muam cane to devour them. this
horror continued until an army of barbarians from the steppe, led by Dragon-risen Feng
Khan, built a great sheet of iron which took ten thousand men to carry. this was carried
into the dwelling place of Muam. all ten thousand sank with honor into the ground, but
never arose. the sheet of iron balanced the necrotic energies of Muam and from that
sacrificial moment, that desecrated earth never again saw light of sun nor moon. millenium
passed and the iron blanket was covered by sand, then soil, then grass, then amnesia,
and now is covered by the flagstones of tianamen square. i wonder if Muam still screams
in hunger beneath our feet. and i also wonder, what of the devil on the mountain and what
happened to the mountain. more reasearch is needed...
